uber confusion on unis

sighs. im so worried about my uni studies. i have narrowed down my choices to thames valley university in uk, university of canberra in australia or auckland university of technology in new zealand.

ok, to do in canberra, it'll be aud10,000 a year just for my study course but the degree will be advertising & marketing communication. it'll take one and a half years to finish. the currency currently is about rm2.7=aud1.

to do in auckland university of technology, it'll take only one year to finish but my cert will be bachelors in communication (advertising) and the course fees will be nzd17,000. the course will only be a year extra for me. the currency currently is about rm2.5=nzd 2.5.

now, the best choice will be thames valley university, uk. suprisingly, it's much more relevant because the cert will state bachelor of advertising and media/pr/etc (hons). it'll only take one year and the subjects that i have to study are already subjects ive studied. hope to get exemptions. and, the course fee is only £6,750 (but they told me £6,000). the exchange rate is rm7=£1 though. dunno why, but im somehow liking this option though it's slightly more pricey. any of you know anyone in the stated unis? would like to hear about what they have to say. hehe.

oh yea, met my long lost friend, audrey goh hui ling, in my uni the other day. havent seen her since 96 when i left penang. was really suprised that she could remember me. hehe *hugs*

i was really down for the past few days but ive cleared the hurdle. he chose me. i hope it stays. i have to admit i still feel insecure a little because knowing guys, they can be so unpredictable. they can say something and then change their minds in just a wink. *prays* i dont wanna talk about it but im really happy now and i hope it stays. if there are going to be changes, i hope it's only for the better. anyways, nites. and yeeng, your earlier entry speaks my mind. domo arigato gozaimus. nites peeps. im gonna have dinner now. another 45 mins to midnight. to all you guys who are ignorant, it's the seventh month in the chinese calender in which the chinese belief the gates of hell are open for the hungry spirits to roam the earth. try not to go out too late, please. just for precautions. nites!

Yea, best is to get the one that is recognized..this way, your pay will be higher and it will be easier to find jobs.

congrats on your relationship aye .. have fun :)

hey mercury! havent heard from you for a very long time! thanks!! :"D

ian, but nowadays, ur cert dont really play a big role right? i mean because in the ad field, as far as ive heard, they said experience comes first. but of course, a good recognisable cert is an advantage.

max, i have... for the past one year but not really into it. now i really am because im running out of time. this month is the last month for me to apply lor. =(

Thames Valley Uni looks like a better choice. if you do degree in Aus, my lecturers told me that you won't get an hons for it;unless you applied for it or something. not too sure abt that though

Posted by: shari at August 21, 2004 05:48 PM

yea yeaa.. go UK. +) nice place. keke

Posted by: koayling at August 21, 2004 08:14 PM

yea. u dun usually get hons in aussie but some uni there do offer though. hugs shari. next time u can call me out for a drink or something. :") *hugs*

koay ling, eyor, but more $$$...

Posted by: tIcKLe`Me at August 23, 2004 10:59 PM

its ok ..locally is okay too...you'll have me in cyberjaya! hehee...:D

Posted by: Maxine at August 24, 2004 12:32 AM

You have to make sure you're making the right investment! I haven't heard of Thames Valley.. I know that Melb Uni has good courses for that though.. Heh, come to Singapore! The course I'm doing, Bsc direct honours for Communications and Information Studies (Advert/PR), NTU. Not sure about the fees but it is very recognised here!
Actually Communications/Advertising stuff best to be done in States.. They have the best schools for that there, but it'll cost a bomb. Checkout Penn and NY! :)

Posted by: jole at August 24, 2004 10:43 AM

max, dont like cyber.

jole, no way. US is way too expensive. more pricier than UK itself. haha. i did consider NTU at first but then dunno, im still indecisive. lol. :"D

Posted by: tIcKLe`Me at August 25, 2004 04:26 PM

gosh, i would be so afraid to study away from home. u r brave. sounds so crazy and exciting. good luck.
