Heheheh Paris (Orly's character) is supposed to be a very weak character. In the Iliad, he was nothing more than a coward. He was what you would call a lover not a fighter. The hero of the Illiad is actually Hector and later Odysseus (the brains behind the Greek victory). Grrr they should have left in the mythological elements, if not apparent at least some subtle hints that there were some higher power behind everything hehehehe.

seriously, troy hasnt got much of a storyline. but good to see hunks. keke. esp eric bana! too bad he died early :(

i guess berd in the movie they showed a very very simplified version for mere earthlings like me to understand. keke. but paris ended up being the "strong" one because he killed achilles, the unkillable!

well pretty much anyone who knows a bit of Greek mythology will know what happens in the story :D Paris, in the stories, eventually kills Achilles as revenge for him killing Hector by hitting him in his only weakspot, his heel :P Although not a good warrior, Paris was a terribly good archer and it was said that the God Apollo who sided with the Trojans, guided Paris's arrow towards Achilles's heel. Of course that's the mythological version. In the Illiad, Achille's weakness was his overwhelming pride. Technically the hero of the Trojan war was Odysseus since he was the one who manipulated things so that 1)the war actually had so many Greek supporters, 2) Achilles joining the Greek forces and 3) coming up with the Trojan horse thing and ending the war. Of course historically there are specualtions that the Trojan War never happened and it was all just a story written by Homer who no one knows if it's actually 1 person or a collective group of writers. Then there's the theory that the Trojan War did occur but in actual fact never involved the Greeks or Helen and Troy was not located somewhere in modern day Turkey but somewhere in Cambridgeshire in England. Oh well, whatever the truth maybe, Troy the movie is just that, a movie from the director's point of view :D Oh yes in response to all the Brad Pitt, Orly Bloom and Eric Bana mentions: - GO SEAN BEAN GO!! WOOT!! Since he's the only one who survived heehheheheh :D Must go petition for them to make sequel with Sean Bean returning as Odysseus!!!! Hmm, they'd have to add the mythological elements with the Gods, cyclops and everything if they want to film the Odyssey though. *fingers crossed*

NUTS. i only knew achilles was someone great but that's because of my friend's name. if my friend weren't name achilles, hell, i wont know anything about him too. hahahahahaa. omg. wow. i salute u berd. u really know ur greek mythology well.

hahaha Odysseus is played by Sean Bean, the British actor who played Boromir. one of my favourite actors hehehehehehe :DD I haven't watched Troy the movie yet so I don't know if they included all this but he should be the one who convinced Achilles to join the Greeks in their war and he was one of the few people that Achilles truly respected and feared because he was extremely cunning. He should also be, hang on let me use a different phrase, he must be the one who came up with the trojan horse plan. Also if they included it, he was the one who competed with Ajax over Achilles's armour after Achilles's was killed. It was supposed to be a foot race that Odysseus won because he was faster than the bigger Ajax who later impaled himself on his sword because he lost :P Stupid ancient heroes and their vain vain pride :P Hehehhe I love to read. Greek mythology is one of my favourite reading subject :D

it's a form of brotherly love becks :) it was a time when men were sure of their sexuality and so comfortable with it that we could express our love to anyone regardless of sex. we could hug and kiss our brothers in arms without having the media or the public saying that hmmmm something's up with that. 'machoism' is an invention of the modern world by the way. the sanctity that is brotherly love has been ridiculed and destroyed by the homophobia of the modern world. it's a common sight to see men walking hand in hand or kissing one another on the cheeks whenever they meet in the middle east.

oh yea, here's a little nitpick. It was an ancient Greek custom for married men to keep a boy as their partner with the full consent of the wife. The boy would learn everything about life and whatnots from the man and later on grow up, get married and repeat the process. It was highly acceptable and promoted during that time. of course now, you'd be called a monster and sent to prison. then again, all rugby players would have been stoned to death in ancient palestine/israel for touching the skin of a dead pig. society changes :D
