you sure it wasn’t liposuction, doc?

you sure it wasn’t liposuction, doc?

i’m back from the hospital. a very short stay because really, the bigger part of the surgery is the recuperation bit. i have two weeks of medical leave but im thinking of going back to work by 2nd of september.
my laparoscopic wounds definitely look like three small cuts done by some random three-year-old kid running around with a penknife. it’s amazing how harmless the wounds look (i can’t really tell cause i havent seen the wound but i’m judging based on the bandages) but the amount of impact and reaction its giving my body is impressive. i am perpetually feeling woozy and my whole body feels like i’ve been ran over by a couple of 5-tonne trucks. it’s aching all over and aching real badly and i can barely eat much without throwing up or running to the toilet. sure felt like i did a much major surgery, like a liposuction, instead…
and you would think that this would make me lose weight, no? well, you’re wrong. just weighed myself and i’m heavier than before. it’s either the machine or my body’s really going wonky.
well, so the surgeons suspected chronic appendicitis. is it really appendicitis? not too sure. my appendix was slightly red but it wasn’t threatening my body much. and then the gynae thinks i have perfectly healthy ovaries albeit it being polycystic. the cause of my pain? everyone’s wishing and hoping it’s the appendix or else i’m back to square one. we’ll see. back to resting now. toodles!

curse of the ‘rabbit’?

curse of the ‘rabbit’?

it’s surgery day today! finally, after enduring almost four months long of unknown pain. both my general surgeon and gynae will be there. they suspect it’s “chronic appendicitis”, albeit rare, it happens. my surgeon has seen about three cases in the hospital i’m getting it done. let’s hope it goes really well and i heal really fast because i’ve seen the ‘surgical wounds’ although it’s via ‘laparoscopic exploration’ and it’s fugly!!!
oh, and did i mention that two colleagues got into two separate accidents and one of them crashed his fifteen day old bike and broke his collarbone? and i’m getting my surgery done later today. what a great ‘week’. could it really be the curse of the ‘rabbit’?
oh well, gotta go now. get some rest and it’s time to get myself ‘open’… wish me luck and a speedy recovery please!

birthday in santubong*

birthday in santubong*

it was my birthday 3 days ago. no celebration of any sort but just pure work, no fun.
should i elaborate? no. was i disappointed? no.
rona, a friend i met through FC many years ago drove all the way to our haunted resort (and apparently, it IS well known for being haunted) in santubong with brownies, amazing lamb paninis and cans of beers. we chilled, drank and ate by the beach until late.
it’s simple things like this that makes me realise you don’t need a party with hundreds of people to be happy. and most importantly, i had someone else close to me on my special day. thank you. ykwya.
